Nationwide reports show that the Covid-19 pandemic that first surfaced in Da Nang 10 days earlier continue to emerge in the central coast city, while other cases are surfacing across the nation.
Authorities in Da Nang also reported, sadly, that a sixth person in Da Nang has died from the Covid-19 virus, in conjunction with other pre-existing health conditions. The patient, known as Patient 429 is a 53-year old woman, who was said to have suffered from diabetes, chronic heart problems and kidney failure for the past five and a half years.
On Saturday, Vietnam's ministry of health reported that as many as 800,000 people had visited Da Nang and left the city to other parts of the country since July 1.
Three hospitals in Da Nang have become the epicenter of the new Covid-19 outbreak and Ministry of Health authorities said that more than 41,000 people have visited these three hospitals since July 1.
Nationwide, the current count of infections resulting from the Da Nang cluster have infected people in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak, Hanoi, Quang Ngai, Thai Binh, Khanh Hoa, Ha Nam and Dong Nai.
Sunday saw 34 new infections as well as two deaths of women in their eighties with multiple pre-existing health conditions.
To date, Vietnam has recorded 620 cases of the Covid-1p virus in the country, with 373 having recovered, six people have died and 241 people under hospital observation. Additionally, 94,000 people are in self-quarantine across the country.
