Vinh City will become the economic center of the north central region by 2023

Vietnam’s Prime Minister has just approved a project this week that will see Vinh City in Nghe An Province, expand rapidly over the next two years so that by 2023 it will be the economic and cultural center of the country’s north central region.

According to the government’s plans, Vinh City will undergo development and transformation so that will be one of Vietnam’s most modern cities, and be the north central region hub for multiple education and economic sectors including commerce, finance, healthcare, information technology as well as other high technology industries. The regions tourism development will be enhanced by development of various cultural, education, sports and tourism activities.

Using 2010 to 2020 data as a baseline, the government is expecting the city’s economy to grow by 10% a year over the next five years with the rate of trained people who can work in the sectors that have been defined by the government reaching 70%.
